Coffee is adicting I know i drink it alot and I love it as well..

Starbucks are to coffee what banana daquiris are to liquor.

In other words, a complete sisification of a beverage.

Don't believe me? Walk into Starbucks and order a "Venté" coffee. When they ask you what kind, say, "black". Then watch the look on the clerk's face as they try to figure out how there are still people in the world that don't cut their coffee with syrup and cream.

From what I've gathered, Starbucks is a status symbol for middle class folk. They buy one and think that they're drinking the coffee that the rich folk drink. Why? Because they had to pay $5 for it of course.

I've seen people turn in Starbucks receipts as a business expense. This sickens me.

the 5 dollar cup of coffee has about 41¢ worth of ingredients.
I prefer coffee from a place that has never let me down... McDonalds.
It's hot, has a good consistant taste, and doesn't turn bitter at the bottom.
That's for an On-The-Road cup of coffee. For coffee houses, the indepentants are the best. We used to have a place here in Joplin that had chess boards on the tables. It closed down a month before I found out about it. DAMN!
The problem with most people, is that they think coffee is a beverage.
It's not.
Coffee is a ritual, and should be aproached as such.
I never wash my mug. Washing pulls the magic from it. If someone in the office does me a favor and washes it for me, I have to rinse it with water, pour a cup and let it grow cold. I then pour out the cold coffee and pour a fresh cup to drink. I drank my coffee with a baby spoon in it for years. I never use sugar or cream so I had nothing to stir, but I still had to have my "bunny spoon".
Alas, the bunny spoon disappeared after I came to my new job. I still miss the jangle sound it made in my empty mug.
It takes a coffee tree an entire year to produce a pound of coffee beans. Actually the tree is producing a coffee cherry. The bean is just the seed from the cherry. These cherries would be the trees children if allowed to grow.
As I breath in the first steam, I like to send a silent "thank you" to the tree for all the hard work, and for being raped of it's progeny.
I offer this thank you even to the Arabica trees.
Lastly, if you say that you love coffee, make sure that you do.
Would you still drink it if it came out of someones ass?

Would a palm civet count as someone? The most expensive coffee is Kopi Luwak. It is collected from the droppings of the palm civet. This animal eats only the reddest, ripest cherries, and the coffee beans pass through the animal's digestive system whole. Good to the last dropping.

I wrote a poem from my coffee mug point of view a few months ago.
I think it is kind of haiku (sp?)

She kissed me today.
a quick press in the kitchen.
I just sat on the edge of the table holding her coffee.
It's getting cold.
