I'm just saying, they're getting pretty loose with the definition of flight as it pertains to this model. When I hear that something "actually flies" I expect it to "actually fly".
Granted, it was an awesome looking model, but I wouldn't say that it flew, unless I can throw my coffee cup in the air and claim the same. If I can, then I don't think there is anything fantastic about the claim in either case.
okay. I think, though, that they believed that they would have a 'controlled' flight and that they craft would survive. They were wrong. Although, it did fly farther than many of the prototype airplanes that got credit for flying in the early days of powered flight. I recall reading that one of the first successful 'flights' managed seventy feet in the air.
