Fanboy Alert!

You bought a Microsoft product and didn't expect failure?

For the record, I have played both sides of the field.

Last year, I got the Zune simply because it wasn't an ipod and it was hella cheap a gift.

But, yeah, this sucks. I got my Zune out of my car this morning and it's brick'd. Apparently you can crack it open and do a hard reset, but I'm going to wait for the official word (though it's not looking good).

Let's see... what else is still left... Creative Zen? Sadness...

I was calling myself the fanboy.

I will say from experience that current gen iPods seem to be much more robust and reliable than their ancestors.

I've also never touched a Zune, and feel dirty whenever I play my brother's 360.

The interface is pretty nice on the Zune (compared to the traditional iPod jog wheel UI which I hate).

I also enjoy the iPod Touch's interface though (who wouldn't?). I unfortunately need lots of space however and the 32gb Touch is far too expensive for me to afford right now.

Apparently it's a leap year date bug, and your Zune should be fine if you reset it tomorrow.

Still, thats a pretty stupid bug.
