can you believe that shit? that was awful. The lack of decorum amongst people is disgusting. However, I'm not certain that we can draw the conclusion that the PS3 really had anything substantive to do with the violence. That sort of violence occurs when people are placed into groups (BF Skinner would have enjoyed the tent cities that sprung up around that premiere of Star Wars Episode I).
Here's the thing: we're discussing the social tendencies of people who have such insignificant lives that they'd camp out to fork over - is it $600? - just to be among the first to play a new console that will have almost no decent or significantly unique games on it for some time yet, if past patterns repeat themselves. Now, I haven't been following the PS3, so correct me if any of that is in error, but c'mon! We're not exactly talking about our best and our brightest here.
