David: Master Debater
The (perhaps last) Democratic Debate moves to Ohio tonight.
Two things that are sure to come up; NAFTA and perhaps the larger trade issue and health care.
On NAFTA it'll be a debate over who loves it more. Both candidates have a history of postive commentary on NAFTA, and both lose when trying to claim that they've always been against it. This issue is pretty much a wash, but they'll trade blows on it, nonetheless.
Health care will be discussed again. Obama needs to clarify Clinton's true position on this this time around. If she attempts to compare her proposed mandate to Social Security or taxes, Obama needs to point out the difference between paying money into government funds and paying money to private insurance companies. While Obama's health care plan does amount to making deals with the insurance companies to lower costs, it does not just hand the entire U.S. population to them on a silver platter.
Personally, I'm anxious to see if Clinton will keep her, "Shame on you, Barack Obama" and "...celestial choirs..." B.S. demeanor for this debate, or if she'll play it sane.
