David: Can We Overcome Division?
I really hope so.

I don't expect it to happen overnight, of course. If the events of last night are indicative of the future climate of American politics, however, I think we are on the road to doing so.

I know there are many Republicans who are sore right now. I can totally sympathize. After all, my guy lost in the last two elections. My only hope is that the new presidency and congress will work together to bring more prosperity, peace, and personal liberty to all of us. They need to see these benefits before they'll get on board. Again, I can totally understand, I've been waiting 8 years to find the benefits of the Bush presidency.

Certainly there will be many who will cry foul, and find (or invent) reasons to decry the benefits they receive under our new leadership. That's only to be expected. However, I really do believe that America has made the right choice to move toward a more unified government than what we've seen in the last few decades.

I figure your all going to rip on me for this comment but what the heck. I think we can overcome division, however the ball is in the democrats court now. Considering the fact they have almost complete control over the goverment the real question is will they do what they have done in the past and try to just completely sideline the republican party.

So, yeah. They're going to be sore for a while.

Thank you David.

Well I never did say the republicans are any different. After all their all politicans and right or left their all the same, mainly out for number one.
What I did say was that the ball is in the democrats court because whether you like it or not they run the government now. Mccain did his part last night by conceding now its up to Obama and the democrats to be willing to comprise with the republicans

No, that's not what you said. Let's not worry about it, though.

You may notice that I said, "I really do believe that America has made the right choice to move toward a more unified government than what we've seen in the last few decades." The period of time I mention implies at least 30 years, which includes both Republican and Democratic administrations. The time for whining about the past is over. The time to do your part to better our future is here.

Or you could continue to piss and moan about partisanship, but I won't be involved in the discussion.

I hope so. And I think Obama will do as well as is possible in the crap-pot of a gov he's coming into.
