I'm not sure what the point of it is, but I'm becoming addicted to checking myself in at places via Gowalla.

It's basically a collection quest. The more places you check in at, the more items you find and collect. You also earn pins for arbitrary and unadvertised goals.

It's pointless. I'm enjoying it.
