David: Steam Summer Sale
So far I've picked up the Borderlands 2 DLC and Fallout:New Vegas. I'm patiently awaiting the new Civ V DLC to hit half off. Patiently.

In the meantime, I got swept up in to Steam trading cards. People are spending real world money on these things (pennies, but still). I'm not profiting, however. I've been selling off my non-Half-Life 2 cards and picking up HL2 cards on the market with the proceeds. In the end I've got a fully leveled up HL2 badge (granddad fought the war for this) and $0.17 jingling in my Steam wallet.

Until I go to craft the "Summer Getaway Badge". 3 cards left to go...

I'm still not sure how card drops work in games. Are they just totally random or do they happen during specific events in-game?

I am a little ashamed that I bought New Vegas and Doom III BFG as I already have New Vegas on PS3 and the original Doom III Windows CD-ROM. Something inside me told me that I should replay New Vegas on PC though...

There just tied to the amount of time the application is open. I just collected my available drops from L4D2 by launching the game and then walking away for an hour.

Bethesda games on the PS3 are buggy as all hell, and the load times...ugh. Much better experience on the PC. And, c'mon, $5! No shame in that pick.

Oh god. I just said "there" instead of "they're" and I can't fix it. THAT'S shame.

Yes... many folks have told me I should have played Skyrim on PC, but, at the time, my video card wasn't good enough to run it on anything visually acceptable.

I definitely think the frame rate is better in New Vegas on PC. Texture detail looks about the same. Overall, I still think it looks pretty good on both PS3 and PC, but it's cool to have it on Steam. :)
