David: Confessions of a Ticketmaster Junkie
It all started with the U2 tour. I'm not a big fan, but the Mrs. loves her some Bono. When I finally realized that tour dates had been announced and tickets were on sale it was too late, they had been sold out. I did notice that Green Day, however, would be in my city soon, and decided that I would get some passes to that show.
U2 later added dates and I got in line to buy tickets for the Omaha, NE show the day, hell, the second they went on sale (U2 has been shy of KC ever since shutting down the interstate highways to shoot a video). They sold out before my "place in line' was reached. I decided to give the show in St. Louis a shot and scored a couple of cruddy nosebleed tickets (which cost close to $200 all said and done). Oh well, my wife was satisfied and happy.
I bought two more tickets today to Beach Ball I, a show put together by local radio station
96.5 The Buzz. Weezer, Cake, and a few other bands are gonna be there at what is now known at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
I'm officially done buying tickets for this year.
For those of you who might find interest...they've cut hours back at my job. I'm still working 40 a week, along with a handful of other employees, but the 3rd Amigo and others are down to 32 a week. However, the 3rd Amigo had a job interview today and I'm hoping that it goes well for her. I recieved an award from my coworkers today (woo hoo) for having the "Most Spirit" during yearbook season. If you'd seen me during yearbook season you'd be scared by what is considered "spirit".
My finger hasn't fallen off yet, and the wound is healing nicely. I get my stitches out next week (can't wait).
