David: My Brain is 50
At least according to this morning's check on Brain Age. That's up 3 years from yesterday, but down 5 years from my initial check on Wednesday. I blame it on the handwriting recognition misinterpreting my "4"s 3 times.

Other than the occasional frustration of the software's inability to translate my hastily scrawled numerals, I'm really enjoying this DS card. My wife has also started a file on the card, and the game does things like forcing you to draw a koala bear from memory, and then comparing your drawing to those others have done of the same subject. All in all, I think it's already been worth it's $20.

Plus, solving rapid-fire arithmetic is oddly entertaining.

David: More Crime Scene KC
Another interesting entry.

Seeing the opinions of the people commenting on many of these issues are a firm reminder that I am living in a "red" state. These are the same people that were shouting, "BOMB THEM" on September 11, 2001, as if there were a single country to "bomb".

Of course, in the end, our "red" country both gave them their wish and served it's political elite's own interests.

Ce la vie.

David: Fun With KC Star
The Kansas City Star website has an interesting "blog" section called "Crime Scene KC" where crime stories are posted and comments opened. I've been reading the comments lately, because they're like looking at a train wreck. Today I decided to weigh in on this story.

20 Waldo points to whoever can pick out which of the posters I am.

David: A Stupid Lost Post
I know that at least Nate is watching this show. As for the rest of you, this is merely speculation as to the show's plot, and uninteresting and perhaps spoiler filled if you are not a current viewer of this remarkable television programme (I added the "me" at the end to look cool).

I'm not going to get too far out there this time.

This is about the food "drop".

According to the training film, the hatch is staffed by a two man team. It wasn't built to be staffed by a two man team, but ever since the "incident", that's been the way things are. Just alternate your sleep patterns and push the button every 108 minutes.

In that case, the food drop was not for them.

I mean, really, have you noticed the size of these cans? The giant tubs of dressing? Who (besides Hurley) is going to use that much Dharma Initiative® Ranch before it goes bad. Who can eat one of those big cans of carrots or green beans before they start growing mold? Those were cafeteria sized cans. These are also the same sized cans that were in the pantry.

Which leads me to believe that wherever this food is coming from, they are unaware of the "incident" and still think they are dropping food on a fully functioning electromagnetic research facility.

But, why didn't the passengers of flight 815 hear the plane that dropped the food?

I don't think it was dropped by a plane, but that theory is a little too wacko to post.

David: Good Night, and Good Luck
I finally got around to watching this movie last night. I've been wanting to see it ever since it came out, but opportunity and time have never seemed to line up.

It's a fantastic film, and underscores the fact that, besides the ability for every man to smoke in any building, not much has changed in America.
