David: Nothing of Merit
Just a link. I've got pictures, but I'm too sleepy and lazy and apathetic and other adjectives that are indicative of my total lack of desire and motivation to upload them.

Just enjoy this and move on

Mood: *sigh*
Music: Some song off of the new Foo Fighters album...
Browsing: You can click it down here if you'd like to open a new window. I didn't build that ability into the above link. I told you I was lazy.

David: Borders
I went to Borders after work today. I saw online last night that Bruce Campbell's new book Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way was out and I needed to pick up a copy.

While perusing the back shelves for a copy (funny, Bruce is not only a B-Actor but a B-Writer) I noticed I was subconciously singing along to the music overhead. This was Sinatra-esque swing, with the horns and the crooning and all that. As I became aware of myself singing along I assumed it was Frank singing something or other until I became aware of what he and I were both singing. Black Hole Sun. Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun.

"Could Frank have ever covered Black Hole Sun?" I thought to myself. "Moreover, would Frank have covered Black Hole Sun?"

I tracked down a Border's employee.

"Excuse me. Do you know who this is playing over the speakers?"
"Yeah. That's Paul Anka. Isn't it funny?"
"Hilarious. Where can I get a copy?"
"You want to buy it?"
"Yes."
"It makes a great gag gift."
"I'm buying it for myself."
"Oh."

Without another word she lead me to the Easy Listening CDs (a section I'm not often found in) and tracked down a copy of the album.

Right now I'm in the middle of R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts.

Steal a song or two by whatever means you choose and listen to this stuff. It's great. Here's a song list:

It's My Life
True
Eye of the Tiger
Everybody Hurts
Wonderwall
Blackhole Sun
It's a Sin
Jump
Smells Like Teen Spirit
Hello
Eyes Without a Face
Lovecats
The Way You Make Me Feel
Tears in Heaven

Music: Paul Anka - Wonderwall

David: Confessions of a Ticketmaster Junkie
It all started with the U2 tour. I'm not a big fan, but the Mrs. loves her some Bono. When I finally realized that tour dates had been announced and tickets were on sale it was too late, they had been sold out. I did notice that Green Day, however, would be in my city soon, and decided that I would get some passes to that show.

U2 later added dates and I got in line to buy tickets for the Omaha, NE show the day, hell, the second they went on sale (U2 has been shy of KC ever since shutting down the interstate highways to shoot a video). They sold out before my "place in line' was reached. I decided to give the show in St. Louis a shot and scored a couple of cruddy nosebleed tickets (which cost close to $200 all said and done). Oh well, my wife was satisfied and happy.

I bought two more tickets today to Beach Ball I, a show put together by local radio station 96.5 The Buzz. Weezer, Cake, and a few other bands are gonna be there at what is now known at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.

I'm officially done buying tickets for this year.

For those of you who might find interest...they've cut hours back at my job. I'm still working 40 a week, along with a handful of other employees, but the 3rd Amigo and others are down to 32 a week. However, the 3rd Amigo had a job interview today and I'm hoping that it goes well for her. I recieved an award from my coworkers today (woo hoo) for having the "Most Spirit" during yearbook season. If you'd seen me during yearbook season you'd be scared by what is considered "spirit".

My finger hasn't fallen off yet, and the wound is healing nicely. I get my stitches out next week (can't wait).

David: I'm Half The Man I Used to Be
It's like a little trap door to my innards!

I shoulda just opted for a Star Wars-esque bionic appendage. I hear the Geonosians do a bang up job.
