True that no progressive president will accomplish all that much, given the nature of our gerrymandered congress. However, the more progressive the POTUS, the better his/her choices for SCOTUS as well as other appointees.

I actually think that income equality is more important than campaign finance reform, but they are both incredibly needed.

I'm not sure by what metric the importance of campaign financing and income inequality can be measured, but I'm confident that you can't properly address the second until you've properly addressed the first. Those that have the ability to purchase politicians have little interest in addressing the problems facing those that don't.
