For some reason I get a SQL error when I try to post a comment, so here is my reply to the Confederate flag thread, posted as a post :
This hardly rises to the level of "thoughtcrime". No big scary Gubment agency is going to throw you in jail for hoisting the stars and bars over your house. Feel free to do so. Get it tattooed on your face, if you like. Walmart, Amazon, et al made a decision based on dollars. They also decided not to carry Swastika merchandise. I don't really hear people calling that thoughtcrime enforcement.
The simple fact of the matter is that the confederate flag is the symbol of treasonous people who attempted to destroy this nation in order to protect slavery (and the money it generated). They lost. Their symbol was ressurected in the 1960s by people opposed to desegregation and civil rights. These were bad guys. Again, they lost.
Should we really be weeping because treasonous, racist losers got their little feelings hurt? Really?
On a side note, Apple is dumb. They obviously have paid no attention to the controversy. They made a stupid snap judgement based on something someone overheard one time or something. They will reverse that judgement and you will be able to continue pretending to be Gen. Lee soon.
