A politician appealing to rage, using insults and direct calls to violence bears at least some responsibility for the tone of his rallies and the actions of those he has incited. . It is not at all akin to kids burning homeless people because they read it in an Ed Mcbain book. If we follow from your suggestion, then it would seem that incitement to riot shouldn't even be a crime. And yet, we realize that it is.
