Nathan Tyree: won't someone think of the puppies?
This small animal rescue that I have worked with for years is in need of some extra help right now. They serve southeast kansas and southwest missouri. Please consider tossing them a couple of bucks:

Nathan Tyree: asleep inside a deconstructed horse
The Revenant is a brutal and amazing film. It reminds one of Cormac McCarthy in both the violence and the grandeur. Inarritu lets the camera, through slow long takes, discover the action turning the audience into an observer and not a participant.

The acting (Dicaprio and Hardy) is Oscar worthy.

Just a massive film all around!

Nathan Tyree: hateful Eight
This weekend I went to the Hateful Eight as part of the glorious 70mm roadshow. It was an amazing experience. This is the first 70mm film in fifty years* and damn do I hope that the format is going to make a comeback! No film has ever looked so deep, so sharp, so glorious. This movie makes you realize just how shit digital projection is.

On the 6th I will see an advance screening of The Revenant. I cannot wait

* projected in 70mm. The Master was shot in the format, but not projected as such.
