The Room Game review

OK, I'm not a gamer-gamer. I'm a casual gamer. The games I enjoy are puzzle games. The Myst series are MY type of game.

I just got my iPad Pro and downloaded a The Room. It's the closest thing to a Myst without being Myst.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.

It wasn't a long game, but for 2 bucks it was worth every penny and more.
If you get this, IGNORE the hint icon that keeps popping up. I swear, why would I buy a puzzle, then ask how to solve it? It ceases to be a puzzle at that point.

The story is on the same par with the original Myst (i.e., a weak narrative with plenty of mystery to be filled in during later installments.)

I will be getting the other installments.

Yes! I just played The Room 3 last week. I thought about the series out of nowhere and wondered if they'd come out with a 3rd yet, which was released quite recently.

Nothing matches the magic of that first go around, but this 3rd one adds an additional layer to the mix that I really enjoyed.

Also, I can't think of these games without thinking of this video https://youtu.be/MKikHxKeodA

That is insane.

I completely missed that you were playing on an iPad Pro. Thoughts on the new hardware? Did you get the Pencil?

I like it I'm actually dictating this right now which is a new feature for me. I downloaded some apps for drawing and I really enjoy all of them. I'm still waiting on the pencil and keyboard so I can't really say much about those yet. I also downloaded an app called Astropad. It lets me use the iPad as an input device so I can actually work on a full version of Photoshop on the desktop machine.
As far as consuming media it's much better than my laptop. I was watching Vimeo and realized that I was hearing stereo without earbuds.
Writing is a little bit difficult without the keyboard. That's why I'm trying the dictation feature right now. It's buggy. I'm gonna have to go back and make some corrections but I like to walk around while I'm thinking and I just might be really interesting to make notes this way.
I've also become aware of how much time I was wasting on my laptop. With multiple windows open it was easy to be lazy. On the iPad you actually have to actively change the task that you're working on and make a decision to waste time. It remains to be seen whether it will make me more productive or I embrace the lazy.
