I've been telling my son that unless he creates something himself, he really has no room to critique the creations of others. I used to be snarky. I could tell you how countless movies could be improved. Books that have great ideas, but flawed endings? Countless numbers of them(most by Stephen King).
Video games are the same thing. My son consumes a lot of games, and loves to tell me where they fall short. Should I accept that he is a lot like I was at that age, or should I try to make him look at thing from a more mature perspective?
Maybe I'm getting older, but I don't like hearing how creators fail to meet consumer expectations. I would rather hear about what they got right.
