Jeez! It might really happen. He's still leading the GOP pack. Now it looks like Bloomberg could run as an independent. That would split the dem votes the way Nader did in 2000.

That outcome is possible, but unlikely. Bloomberg, were he to run, has limited factional support which is almost entirely in New York and Florida. He would need to pull enough support from the Dems in BOTH states in order to flip the election. Current polling suggests that a Bloomberg run would pull evenly from Clinton and Trump (and in the case of a Sanders nomination, Bloomberg pulls more heavily from Trump than from Bernie).

All of that is highly academic, though. Cruz is the more likley nominee. And Cruz's support in a general election would be sub-Goldwater level.
