what body in the sense of your post is not to some extent influnced by outside political bodies??? and secondly why would the fact that we helped get rid of a tyrant and mass murderer be something to be ashamed of

Okay, my objection to this is twofold:

1) I don't believe in the death penalty. I don't care what someone's done, I don't think it's the right thing.
2) From what I've heard, the trial was not fair. Execution after a fair trial might be called justice, but execution after an unfair trial is just wrath. Sure, you might say that we know what he did, that it doesn't matter how the trial was conducted, but that's not justice.

the reason why those bleeding heart liberal groups like amnesty international and others ect say that it was unfair is because Saddamms lawyers kept walking out so if they did not get a fair shot is there own fault for not staying and doing there job.
As for being against the death penalty well I have no problem with that I may disagree with it but have no problem with you being against it

You may not agree with the death penalty, but it is acceptable punishment in Iraq. Saddam sentenced many people to death.

The facts are that Saddam Hussein was a killer. That is how he came into power. He was on trial for murdering 148 people, because of an assasination attempt made on him. The families of those murdered do believe in the death penalty. The people who suffered under his rule, the ones who were tortured(I mean real torture, not just naked pyramid) wanted him dead. No influence from the US was neccessary for this verdict.

As for a fair trial. A fair trial is one that serves justice, not just law. There were many trials under the "Jim Crow" era which served the law, but their ends were not justice.
Was he guilty of murder? Yes, of course he was.

To my brother. You say "the rest of you". That puts me in the same category as captpicard since we are the only others. I do not engage in bloodlust.
I wish he hadn't been killed. He should have spent the rest of his days in jail. There were many other crimes that he should have been tried for. Now the world will conveniently forget those other deaths in favor of the ones he was punished for.
