2-HeadedGiraffe: Killing Me Softly with his Thong

These are strips from my comic which I sent Steve earlier today, presumably leading to his post on the topic of Pluto. Personally, I found the topic interesting, and I tend to agree with the change in classification.

I think the scientists made the right decision.

In other news, pants which leave your underwear exposed are now illegal in Dallas, according to what I heard on the radio today at work.

2-HeadedGiraffe: More Songs They Won't Play on the Radio
Sorry to keep ranting about radio censorship, but this one has been bugging me. There's a song called "Unfaithful" currently receiving plenty of play on the radio. I think it might be by Rhianna or someone like that. Anyway, the whole point of the song is that the artist's persona in the song is cheating on her boyfriend. It's killing him inside, and she doesn't want to be a murderer. Fair enough. It's a song about murder, in a metaphorical sense.

There's a line that says "Might as well take a gun and put it to his head." They leave out the word "gun" for the radio edit. Now explain that one to me. The song already talks, though metaphorically, about murder, and radio stations talk about guns on the news and stuff all the time. I see no reason why mentioning the word gun if you're going to play that song anyway is inappropriate.

Damn it, people, don't you know censorship is wrong? If a word's not dirty*, leave it in or don't play the thrice-damned song.

*meaning if it's one of those generally agreed upon words that are inappropriate for use on the radio, in TV, etc. You know who you are.

Mood: Annoyed, in a happy way.
Music: A clean version of the song in question.
Etc: River Horse Comics.

2-HeadedGiraffe: Join the club!
Well, like Brandon before me, I acquired a DS Lite a little over a week ago. By coincidence, both the games I bought with it were Mario related: Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros. Both of them are excellent, though SM64DS takes advantage of the DS's features much moreso than NSMB does. Other than just graphical level, there's no reason NSMB couldn't have been done on SNES, as far as I know. That is to say, there's nothing really that uses the DS technology that couldn't have been done without it. That being said, though, it's definately a worthy successor to the Mario name.

Fortunately or unfortunately depending on who you are, I lack the broadband connection needed to play any future multiplayer games I might acquire online. It's not a feature I imagine I'd use anyway.

Mood: Jolly
Music: "Night After Night" by the Sounds
Etc: 20%

2-HeadedGiraffe: Modern Machinary
I was using a machine today at work that was labeled "Made in Western Germany." If I'm not mistaken, that means the machinary we're using was likely made before 1990, when there was still an east and west part of Germany. Sixteen years old, for those of you who are even less mathematically inclined than I am, if such a thing is possible.

We're on the cutting edge, here (no pun intended, even though this particular machine was cutting a groove into the bottoms of boards, fairly close to the edge).

(edit: the wall came down in 1989)

Watching: The TV
Current Show: Mythbusters

2-HeadedGiraffe: I'll bet you they won't play this song on the radio.
There's a song on the radio where they something like "Haven't you ever heard of closing the God damn door?" On the radio edit, they take out the word "God" but leave in the word "damn."

Damnation is appropriate for all listeners, but God is not. To quote a teacher I had in the middle school, "Put that in your pipe and smoke it."

Mood: It's the freakin' weekend. Gonna have me some fun.
Music: Just the background music on a TV program I have on
Etc: An old grocery bag in the corner
