2-HeadedGiraffe:
So, yeah, I know I haven't posted in, like, forever, but I'm, like, totally still alive.

Mostly I've been working days and evenings at the International Retail Chain and spending time with my girlfriend. Yeah, girlfriend. You wanna make something of it?

In other news, the family dog passed away the other day. Even though I never liked her, I don't like to see any animals sick or in pain. That is part of the natural order, though. Nature is cruel that way. Rest in Peace, Cinnamon.

I've seen a few people talking about the holidays. All I can say is "Bah humbug." It's not that I'm against celebrating or festivities or whatever, but I'm just not a big holiday guy. Seriously, though, they're important to my girl and to my family, so I guess I'll participate for at least another year ;)

Mood: Not bad, not bad.

2-HeadedGiraffe: The Good News
Albert got fired!

For those of you (probably all of you) who don't know, Albert was a mean, grumpy old man who worked day maintanance at the International Retail Chain. I used the term "worked" only in its loosest sense; most of the time, he would spend the day sitting back in maintanence reading his newspaper and looking at pictures of little girls. No, seriously. We found them back there before. Not pornographic pictures or anything, but still.

He was always ready with a nasty remark or a racist comment. He will be missed...by no one. Couldn't have happened to a nicer man.

BTW: almost everyone agrees with me on this in at work. It's not like I had a personal problem with this guy other than the problems he caused for everyone in general.

Mood: Made my day.
Music: None.

I keep thinking of things to post while I'm at work, then not remembering them when I get home again. AUGH!

2-HeadedGiraffe: On the reading of the most recent post from our friend the Fuzmeister.
This seems appropriate enough to warrant a post.

I just took the quiz in Fuzmeister's last post, and, of course, my life is rated G (vent posts don't necessarily count, and it didn't mention thoughts). I've been very pissed off about this particular topic recently.

I see the people all around me, people without morals, without dignity.

People who expose themselves indecently in public, even on the job.

People who talk about things decent folk don't want to hear about, and certainly would never willingly discuss.

People who believe they have rights they have not earned.

People who believe they can do whatever they want, again whether they've earned it or not.

People who cuss, drink, and smoke too much, without ever realizing they're doing anything wrong.

People who try to control my life, even though they themselves admit they don't understand me or the way I think and feel.

The people I see at my job and in my life are just an undignified, uncultured, and worst of all shameless lot. Shame is the one true, pure human emotion. It's that feeling that lets us know when we've done something inappropriate or that prevents us from stepping outside the boundaries of respectable behavior. When people don't have enough of it, this world is what happens.

If it's possible, I miss something I've never known, or perhaps it's just a longing for something I've heard about in stories from long ago. People used to be more refined, or at least be expected to act like it in public. They didn't expose their bodies, and they certainly didn't talk about them. I'm not sure which is worse, the exposing or the discussing. They knew what were virtues and what were vices, and at least knew to show the former when people were around. Maybe they were no more or less moral than the people of today, but at least they knew how to behave in public places.

I'm TwoHeadedGiraffe. Good night.

2-HeadedGiraffe: He's gone to a better place.
Day shift, electronics department at the International Retail Chain instead of night maintanence there. Yay.

Can't you just feel the excitement oozing from all my pores?

Mood: Meh.
