2-HeadedGiraffe: Laptop Update

When I called HP, we determined that the monitor on my laptop does, in fact, work. If you hold F10, I think it was, the BIOS displays, but Windows still loads not. The computer is currently in the shop, and I am on my Wii.

Speaking of the Wii, I wrapped up some change I had and bought Super Smash Brothers Brawl yesterday. So far it's pretty fun, and I'll probably feel like giving a more detailed opinion once I've had it longer.

2-HeadedGiraffe: Out of Commission

My laptop is not working. When you hit the power button, the lights come on, but nothing else happens. This means that either the BIOS is not loading or there's something wrong with the monitor itself. I will call HP in the not-too-distant future and have them fix it, but since I don't have my address for the summer (I'll be taking summer session classes here), I don't even know where to tell them to send the computer back to.

In the meantime, my comic will not be updating :( Instead, I'm drawing a number of strips by hand, which is actually something of a fun change of pace over doing them on the computer in Photoshop. Once I get the computer up and running again or I find somewhere with a scanner I can use, they will be uploaded, split into separate images and posted. BIG stuff happening in the strip, and I wish I could share it (if anyone on Vent or anywhere else is reading. Heh.)

I am back on my laptop, and, despite HP's warning, the hard drive has not been wiped. I didn't figure it would be, since it was only the monitor that was damaged, but I'd done a backup just to be sure.

1) I have it on decent authority that I should have my laptop back tomorrow, but that the warranty doesn't cover hardware damage, so it had to be payed for. I'll presumably pay my step father for it next time I see him.

2) I ran into Nicholas* again today. He's going to send me an e-mail, and he, Annie and I are going to get together and catch up and whatnot.

3) The spell checker Vent uses recognizes the word "whatnot."

4) I have completed the homework I needed to do in the computer lab and am now just killing time.

5) Stifle is an anagram of itself.

My laptop needs a new screen, so it's going into the shop tomorrow. At the moment, I'm browsing the 'net and posting from my Wii. My older desktop is hooked up, but it lacks an Internet connection, since this room has nowhere to plug the cable in.

I've been working on the holiday story for Bob in New Boise, but I have no means of posting strips at the moment. Waa!

Really, I don't have anything else important to say, but I thought I'd make a post.
