2-HeadedGiraffe: Belated Thanksgiving Post
How does overendulging on food just before entering a season which is, for many, devoted to senseless consumerism show thankfulness for anything? If you want to show real appreciation, you should fast for Thanksgiving as people originally did on such days.

Going without would tend to make people appreciative. It just seems to me like Thanksgiving is another good idea poorly executed.

2-HeadedGiraffe: A little TOO convenient, don't you think, Mr. Bush?
Everyone hates a double post, but I thought I'd be the first on Vent to post a paranoid conspiracy theory about this:

Bush Wins His Father's War

The article states that the American government reportedly has a fair amount of control over the Iraqi body which conducted the trial. Though I don't really believe it's some kind of set up or conspiracy, someone the United States would just as soon went away is being hanged by a body they apparently have some degree of influence over. Let's just ignore the fact that back in day, this country's government helped him come to power in the first place.

Man, I wish I was the kind of guy who believed in outlandish conspiracies. If so, I could claim that George Dubya or his agents had manipulated the trial to carry out a personal vendetta against Saddam. If I wanted to, I could even go so far as to claim the whole thing was planned years ago, when America first helped the man. Even if I was that paranoid, though, which I'm still a bit short of, I can't imagine giving the American government that much credit.

2-HeadedGiraffe: You'd Think That People Would Have Had Enough of Paul McCartney
The other night at work, I heard "Silly Love Songs" twice in the span of a couple hours on the radio station to which I was listening, plus at least one song by the Beatles, though I don't remember which one. Now, don't get me wrong. I've got nothing against P. McC, but his best work was with the Beatles, and playing the same song of his twice in one night seems a bit much.

I would expect this from (NAME OF LOCAL TOP 40 STATION DELETED), but not from a station that normally has so much variety.

2-HeadedGiraffe: Od
In the etc. detail on my last post, I listed "Old Magic" and "In the Forests of Serre," two books by Patricia A. McKillip. I bought both of them this past Friday and have started reading the former.

I looked at both of them several times in the bookstore before buying them. I read the blurbs and the comments and whatnot on the books. I was even briefly discussing another McKillip work with one of the cashiers there, who tells me she has since purchased the book.

The point of this? I just realized this morning the title of the book I'm reading is "Od Magic," not "Old Magic." Apparently, I'm not very obserant.

Last Book: Alphabet of Thorn
Current Book: Od Magic
Next Book: In the Forests of Serre
