snazzykat: So hard to say goodbye...
My baby is in the hospital for 3 to 5 days. I hugged it and said "I'll be back for you soon" and it took all my strength to drive home without it.

It is in the best place it can be right now, and when it comes home we'll play. Hopefully it will be all better once this is all over.

God Speed Clint... God Speed.

Mood: Melancholy

I hope everything is okay

It's okay, I'm just talking about my Macbook. This doesn't change anything about the way I feel about the situation, however.

The first sentence Had me worried, but I knew it wasn't Sophie the second you used "it" instead of "her".

Why do you call it clint?

Nathan Tyree - (Overwhelmed by existential angst)
I didn't catch the "it"
yes, why "clint"?

now I am confused

Actually, the name of the Apple Genius guy was Clint. I don't have a name for my macbook as of yet, perhaps I should think on that.

3 to 5 long days without my computer. The only thing that makes things a little easier is that I am posting this message from our new Quad Core MacPro at work. I am the resident "Mac" person so therefore I am the only one not afraid to touch it.

Of course, Clint asked me if my new MacPro was an 8-core last night (he lovingly called it "the Ocho") and when I told him no he told me that this computer was old and busted before it even got out of the box.

Nathan Tyree, the great writer, didn't catch the use of an incorrect pronoun? I'm surprised.
Archimago - ()
it isn't an incorrect pronoun, but an impersonal one when used to describe a baby.

" There is a baby on the floor. It sees a bug. It crawls over and eats the bug. The bug did not taste good."

The use of "it" allows the baby to remain androgynous.

Snazzy would not refer to her real baby as an it. She would use the term "monkey". It is another way to allow the baby to remain androgynous I suppose.

Not that I think there are many pedophiles on Vent, but "Monkey" is a whole lot less appealing to the creepies than "cute little girl".

I can only hope that there is no one reading this who likes monkeys more than most (or more than they should).
