Check it out here. Don't you just love how none of these posts really have anything to do with me. Well, I suppose they do. Let me proceed to tell you how I feel about Ocarina of Time in a couple of lines...

Pretty solid game with a move story-driven style of gameplay. The exploration found in the earlier Zelda games was virtually non-existent in this title with that ass-hole owl telling you each and every objective.

"Hoot, hoot - Link! It's time to eat a sammich."

I hated that feathery fiend. Anyways... if you haven't played this game yet, you're probably living under a rock, over the age of 60, or mildly retarded... all of which are valid excuses, I guess. Ocarina of Time may have been voted the best game of all time by a bunch of game publications, but I think it's just pretty good - not great.

There you go. A personal touch.

Link to the Past led you along, as well, though not quite so much as OoT, if I recall. I haven't played either of them recently.

For real exploration, you want the original or maybe Wind Waker.

The owl may have lead the way for you to "beat" the game, at least as young link, but exploration was still necessary if you wanted to really "play" the game. To me, you haven't really conqured a Zelda game until you have every item, your item inventories are maxed out, and you have the full compliment of heart containers. Hell, I even went so far as to buy a Gameboy Advance/Gamecube link cable just so I could get all the Tingle statues in WindWaker. That was a big part of what made OoT so great, it was accessible, and yet still contained the elements that made it unaccessable. I think that makes sense.

I worry about Twilight Princess, though. I don't know if I want to play as a dog, but, then again, I didn't think I'd want to sail around in a boat. Then again, I'll probably suck so bad with the Wii controller that it won't matter.

All wii are sayiing is give Wii a chance.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you want to look at it, 9 times out of 10 when I thought something Nintendo was doing was wrong, it turned out to be really good. Take the DS for example. I never imagined they'd actually turn that into a decent system. Most of the early stuff I'd heard made it sound like the features weren't well-used or whatever. As soon as I played one, however, I knew I was getting it.

I have confidence the Wii will be really good, and when I eventually get one, I will probably be getting Twilight Princess on it.

And that's my ten cents (my two cents is free).

Don't get me wrong... I have faith in Wii - but I'm wondering if Twilight Princess will play just as good on Gamecube if not better considering it's been in development for it since two years ago... has it been that long? Maybe not that long... sure seems like it though.

It's been that long, probably longer. It was supposed to be released October of 2005, then got pushed back to April of 2006, then to Wii-day.

However, I don't think Nintendo is just slapping a bunch of Wii-features in willy-nilly. It'll be polished. I'm just nervous about learning to play video games all over again.

But it's a good nervous.

Heh. I just read that the GCN version of Twilight Princess has a December 11 release date. That's reason enough for me to buy a Wii at launch.
