I found this site today and it depressed me. At least the odds of finding out your child is a genius are good (250 to 1).

um... some of the things they list cannot be considered a simple probability. Odds of being canonized? I'm not catholic, an atheist, and don't believe in miracles, soooo...

Odds of writing a bestseller? For most people there is no chance of this happening because they don't write books.

How does one figure the probability of being eaten by a shark? Isn't that probability different for those who do not swim in the ocean?
