What, specifically, is your objection to? The art style or the story.

Personally, I dig the art style of the animation.

Also, there is no "prequel universe". The Star Wars universe exists as a whole. I don't understand what is "sub-par" about the "prequel universe".

My personal opinion is that it's just fun to hate on Star Wars films. Then again, I'm merely a fan of the films, and don't read the books.

My objection is that whether or not something still exists in terms of being profitable, it could prove to be more profitable in a long-term business model if the franchise is still thought of as "quality" in the future.

Basically, stuff like this is what puts off a lot of fans and lowers the overall value of the product.

The same argument could be made for Mario sports games or virtually any of the games in the Mario-verse that are not "core" games.

Now if you see it as merely entertainment then I suppose it really doesn't matter.

As for the "sub-par" comment, I simply don't feel the newer Star Wars films were made with the same production quality as the original films. Ironic considering how much more they cost to make. Cost does not equal quality, I suppose.

Anyway, I don't plan on seeing the Clone Wars film, so I guess the impact it has little difference on me.

I mostly agree with Steve. I and II were pretty bad. III felt more like a real Star Wars movie and was basically miles ahead of them.
What's so insane is that the Clone Wars are by far the coolest aspect of the Prequels but get almost completely skipped over in the movies.

That said, I liked Tartakivsky's Clone Wars series and this new one looks pretty neat, too.

The Clone Wars cartoon was supposed to have been really good. I'm still somewhat in the camp that says the prequel movies weren't as bad as people make them out to be. I mean, yes, they rushed things too much and had really bad dialogue, but I'm not sure the stories or ideas contained therein were actually bad, and of course they were well-done in terms of visuals and whatnot.

Get some actors who can portray the characters competently, write dialogue that's not cheesier than Wisconsin in the springtime, and the movie could be pretty good.

Star Wars dialog has always been cheesy.

People tend to forget, these movies (and Indiana Jones) are inspired by the Saturday Morning serials that George Lucas watched as a kid. It's everyone else besides it's creator that wants the Star Wars franchise to be more than that.

You are right, David, but it feels like the older films are less cheesy in terms of dialog.. or at least less predictable which I think might have been a problem with the new Star Wars films.

In the original movies, people didn't neccessarily know what to expect with each (Hoth battle, Yoda, ewoks, Jabba's Palace). With the new films, I think there was some predictability.

The ocean world in Attack of The Clones is still one of my favorite parts of the prequel trilogy.
