Looks like the same game with new graphics to me. Not too excited.

Even if it was just the same game as the original with new graphics and controls, the original was an excellent game, and this would probably be worth the purchase.

Of course, with one brief trailer, even if it only does show old characters, there isn't enough information to say whether it'll only be the charcters from the original or not.
