The train seems out of place in Hyrule, but it could be interesting. By the way, Steampunk would feature more modern style technology powered by steam, and the Bronze Age, though records are sketchy, is not thought to have had trains.

Woah, woah, woah. I corrected myself in-post about the steampunk terminology. I also said the series was "moving out of" the bronze age which might be where I'd place most of the technology in the franchise.

I'd say various suggestions of the use of steel imply Hyrule is past the Bronze Age in any game. It was a misreading of your post, however, which made me think you were saying it was moving into the Bronze Age, and yeah, you did correct yourself about steampunk.

Steam power isn't new to Zelda. The boat in Phantom Hourglass was steam powered.

Nor are trains a new item. There were train tracks and cars present in at least one dungeon I can remember from the Oracle games, though no locomotives.

This looks like a direct sequel to Phantom Hourglass (which I did not enjoy) to me.

It's only fitting that technology should advance in Hyrule. We're talking about hundreds of years passing between games. I'm ready for post apocolypse future Hyrule, as seen in Chrono Trigger. The Master Sword will be replaced with the Master Plasma Rifle.

As for the Oracle games, I've heard good things, but I've never played either in-depth at all.

I've never played any of the handheld Zelda games. I always hear good things about most of them, but I've just never bought one. No particular reason.
