The Wii looks like it still has some good stuff coming, and I'd say I own a fair number of quality titles for it already. The Playstation consoles tend to have pretty solid lineups, too, though I haven't heard about many games in particular on PS3. What made you choose to get one now?

BLU-RAY! 360 has much better online game-play though. Wii holds nostalgic value, but system sadly lacking in great titles. Ours sits until we play old GC games or have friends over for brawl/kart.

All great PS3 things to check out. I just started Demon's Souls yesterday and it is viscious in its difficulty, but so well built that an action RPG lover can't help but keep playing.

There's just so much garbage coming out to Nintendo's system... mostly from third parties, but I feel like the opportunity to make some really amazing games was lost for Nintendo this generation - there are the mainstays like Mario, but not much otherwise. I'll continue to support these franchises, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to fork money over for another Nintendo system if they don't get their act together. I think I got a total of maybe two Wii games this year.

The decision to get a PS3 was partially so I could enjoy some of the most critically acclaimed games of this generation. The blu ray player aspect didn't hurt either, but honestly I have a feeling we'll end up using the NetFlix functionality a lot more (right no we have a rental point system thing set up at Hollywood Video and NetFlix would cost half of what that does).

In the past, I've seen the PS3 as expensive and offering very few quality games overall for the kind of gamer I am. It's only this year that I think there are enough games I'd like to play out on the system to make it worthwhile (not neccessarily exclusives, but yeah). Also, the price drop puts it in what I would consider a reasonable price range.

Oh yeah... my PS1 was destroyed back in March too... now if I get the urge to play Symphony of the Night I can do so on the big TV.
