fuzmeister: Andy
The last time I talked to Andy, it wasn't even a conversation. He sent me an instant message saying how we needed to catch up soon or something to that effect.
Andy was one of the musicians I knew for whom had a deep respect. I was giddy last year when he agreed to play upright bass on Score. I always admired his musical prowess and creative spirit so much. I was always enthralled by how much output he had as a musician despite not being a "career musician." Not only was he a fantastic bass player, but his knowledge of theory outweighed anyone who I personally know. He often recommended jazz to me and we'd trade suggestions back and forth. I never liked Ornette Coleman, but I listened to him since Andy spoke so highly of him.
Even though I hadn't seen him in person in quite some time, I will miss him dearly. His passing is just further proof to me that you need to appreciate those you have while they're still here and let them know that. Unfortunately, due to how "busy" I am, we never caught up after he sent me that message a few weeks ago. I don't regret much in life, but I will regret this and I'll miss him.
