m a bigger fan of Lou than I am of Metallica, but I didn't expect this to be a good combo. I haven't heard the music yet. I assumed that Metallica would be too overbearing for Lou Reed's style which is often like a poetry reading set to music.

I appreciate Lou's work, but he is really showing his age in the studio. It may not be helped by the pancake mastering job done by modern "mastering engineers."

I listened to it. My assumptions were almost right. I think this album would have been great if we could have used Lou Reed from 15 years ago with Metallica from 15 years in the future.
Lou felt a little weak on this. Iced Honey was probably his strongest output on this album, but it was overplayed by Hetfield's backup.
The 20 minute long Junior Dad is probably the best balance on the album.
