fuzmeister: Blanket Statement II Released!

Hello to all and happy Monday evening. I'm quite happy to announce the release of my new acoustic covers EP Blanket Statement II. It's available to you, the listeners, as a free download from the site. I can't promise this will be an annual thing for us, but I can promise you will all hear some new originals this year. For now kick back and enjoy the five tunes on this EP courtesy of all of us at ST HQ.

Gigs can be hit or miss. Last night, the crowd wasn't very big at Fat Boys in Connellsville, but there was some great enthusiasm from a few audience members. It's hard sometimes to really get into things during such a long set when the audience is really passive.

On the bright side, we played a few songs that haven't been played yet such as I Know (which sounded stellar) and Double Portion / Spanish Rise. It was definitely a fun night albeit a little under our expectations.

Next scheduled gig isn't until March, but we may get something thrown in before that. Full details (along with the setlist) available here.

Wednesday night we did a community benefit show in Boswell, PA. Though the crowd was kind of thin, we still had a good time and played some great tunes. No technical difficulties like the last show either!

There were four other acts playing that night. My personal favorite was Jody Perigo who played ukulele and sang. Her last song was a cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It that just sounded awesome on a uke.

Show details and the full setlist can be found here!

Ah, The Brown Hotel - kind of a smaller venue, but not a bad place to go and rock out. The Sunflower Spectacle did a good job filling in the time before we went on and brought their unique sound along to color the night.

We filled almost a solid two hours with music after a few minor technical difficulties. I actually still need to verify which cable wasn't working where and whether or not the two button foot-switch for my amp is dead. I don't think anyone really noticed too terribly much though.

I whipped out a lot of songs that normally we don't play since it was such a long set. Overall, it was a good night with the crowd being pretty awesome. Full setlist and other details available here.

Roll on the benefit gig at the end of the month!

Last night's gig went well. We did about an hour of music. The sound guy on-hand knew how to work the boards and make us sound good; he even had the mics on hand to mic drums, amps, and Dave's sax. Everyone was very nice and very professional.

Dante's was a good venue. I'd love to go back and play when university is in session to draw a bigger crowd. Here's to the first of many posts regarding gigs.

You can get some more details here including the full setlist and some links to video.
