fuzmeister: New Zelda Game Goes Steampunk

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks trailer for Nintendo DS
by thetanooki

Maybe steampunk is an inaccurate statement, but it looks like Zelda is finally moving out of the bronze age. I suppose the correct term would be steam-based technology and I'm not talking about the kind Valve has.

Anywho, what does everyone else think about this? Is this a bad change/direction for the series? Will you play it?

fuzmeister: Great Sadness

My compact PSOne system is dead. I broke it out last night for some Street Fighter Alpha 3 with a friend and the dog that was visiting ran right through the controller cords. The system flew down on the concrete floor and now it sounds like an electric razor.

Maybe I should get one of those slim Playstation 2 systems to replace it. Some of my friends offered to give me their old, original model systems, but they just aren't the same as my fallen gaming buddy.

fuzmeister: Damn You, Valve
I just beat Half Life 2: Episode 2. I know it's been out since late 2007, but I only just began playing it early this year. The episodic nature of these expansions works incredibly well and, I think, this latest release has some of the best storytelling of any game I have ever played. Please note, that I said storytelling and not story, though that is definitely great as well.

Valve is going to keep getting my money now. They've sealed the deal.

Anyone know when Episode Three is coming out?

fuzmeister: Quake Live
Quake Live is pretty sweet, for what it's worth. I'm not really sure how much data is stored on my local machine and what's done in the browser, but it's impressive.

There skill-based player matching seems to work nicely too. I'm still getting my ass fragged fairly often, but I'm also turning some of them to gibs. It seems fair to me thus far.

Anyway... log on and try it. It's totally free and quite nice. My username is Fuzmeister if anyone wants to friend me.
