fuzmeister: Underrated Games: Cleopatra
Gameplay shot!

Originally released as an arcade game in Japan by Taito (Bubble Bobble, Space Invaders) in 1996, Cleopatra's Fortune seems to be just another Tetris clone for the Sony Playstation at first. However, the style of play is actually quite unique and challenging. I found this game in early 2004 with a bunch of other budget games in, I think, Erie, PA. The graphics are what you would expect from a mid-90s 2D puzzle game with lots of colorful sprites and fun little animations from the game's lead character who cheers you on as you play.

I'm not going to say this is the end-all/be-all of 2D puzzle games, but it's a severely underrated game from one of the once-great game developers that will offer a lot of fun to any fan of the genre.

fuzmeister: Respectable Television
There are very few television programs I truly respect... My pick goes to either The Twilight Zone (the original series) or The Outer Limits - maybe the early years of E.R. or Law and Order in terms of drama... but the other two were truly creative in their writing...

... ironic that they are both sci-fi, isn't it?

fuzmeister: They Call It Stormy Monday - Yes, but Tuesday's Just as Bad.
My post title is from a song by T-Bone Walker. Cream covered it during their reunion shows in 2005 and Clapton has covered it solo prior to that. Anyway - it's been raining out a lot this week. Rainy days always make me feel kind of depressed. Strange and cliched , I know, but it's true.

I haven't been sleeping well lately. Not sure why - I just am tired constantly.

I've also been thinking about a lot reasons why people are shitty in the world today more than, say, years ago when fewer people were shitty but the world was still a shitty place...

I got into an argument at work today with someone that started out as "why Ocarina of Time wasn't the best game ever" and ended with "why I would never sell my music to Wendy's." Truly terrifying.

fuzmeister: This Weekend
A list of things done or to be done this weekend:
  • I updated the Steve Thompson site. There's a sort-of progress report up for people awaiting new material.
  • I'm going to Johnstown tonight to see Kate. She's been busy all week with R.A. training at university, so it should be a good, relaxing time. It's also a good day for driving outside.
  • Last night I patched up the online high score submission stuff in Inhabitants. Hopefully, it'll be ready to roll out in the next two weeks.

That's all folks (for now).

fuzmeister: Birthday Post for Mr. Brandon Parker
I remembered like two weeks ago that it was coming up and it totally slipped my mind. I figured I'd extend warm birthday wishes (warm like cookie warm, not urine in the bed warm) to Brandon and open things up for prop-giving.

Happy birthday, B!
