fuzmeister: DeepTrouble
I love DeepDiscount.com. I order virtually all of my CDs from there. Recently I pre-ordered the new Harry Potter book from there which, quite frankly, I could care less about. Don't get me wrong - I've got nothing against the series, the author, or her story. I'm just saying that, unlike many people, I'm not buying into the hype machine that J.K. Rowling's creation has become.

Well, according to wikipedia, my beloved DeepDiscount has made a boo-boo and may be in DeepTrouble:

One reader in Maryland received a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in the mail from DeepDiscount.com four days before it was launched, with incredulous responses on part of both Scholastic and DeepDiscount. Scholastic initially reported that they were satisfied it had been a "human error" and wouldn't discuss whether they would be penalized. However, later the following day, Scholastic announced that approximately 1 ten-thousandth (0.01%) of the US supply had been shipped early, which would constitute around 1200 copies, and that it would would be launching legal action against DeepDiscount.com and its distributor, Levy Home Entertainment.

Here's hoping the "legal action" doesn't ruin this site. I got a phone call from Scholastic today. They knew I had pre-ordered the book for Kate from there. They politely asked me not to read it until midnight on the launch day. I'm not getting the book and wasn't planning on reading it anyway, so I gladly complied.

fuzmeister: The Darkest Film I Have Seen
I mean the title of this post quite literally. They are currently showing Jeepers Creepers one of the worst fecal stains of a film I've ever seen on television. I could allude to its crappiness by conveying how terrible the plot is or how shallow the acting comes off as. Instead, I'd rather just point out that this film is entirely too dark to see what's going on for a lot of the film. I don't know if the television is on the fritz or what, but it seems that every time I've turned around from the computer, it's been scene that can barely be seen.

Most notable about this film is that Justin Long, the mac guy from those stupid PC vs. Mac commercials, is in it.

fuzmeister: Days of Realization
I realized quite a few things this week. Most of these thoughts were sparked by conversations that I had with my co-workers and a conversation I had with Kate. My everlasting dream of doing something with S+F Software is pretty much a crap shoot. It's not that I don't want anything to happen with it, mind you, but I'm pretty much the only person that gives a damn. Understandably so, I suppose.

My friends at work have been encouraging me to play my music live somewhere a lot lately too. This got me thinking about what it means to be successful and I ended up realizing that success is ultimately relative to each person. Music is a hard thing to actually do anything with - but it's a constant piece of culture.

Video games are relatively new still and the market today is insane. I'm pretty much sold that there's no way S+F will ever be anything more than what it is. I will probably finish up the projects that I have started and keep maintaining the site, but I don't know how overly ambitious I will be in terms of new stuff. It's just too hard by myself.

I'll probably keep writing albums though - maybe I can do something with that.

Some people are happy working for the man their whole life, but it feels like humans are meant for so much more. At least, it seems that way to me.
