fuzmeister: Yet Another Rant Regarding Game Dev
I feel like I have several roads I could take from this point in my life that would greatly alter whatever I end up doing. For years and years I have wanted to do game development. S+F Software really served as a great way to do stuff and warm up for what I figured would one day happen. I've got quite a bit of stuff on the back-burner in my mind - but as it stands all ends of this are poopy. Without shit-talking GOAT Store, I will simply say I am not satisfied post-Inhabitants DC with them. They are great guys, don't get me wrong. Just hasn't gone the way I was hoping it would, I guess.
I guess the major thing is that I'm severely disappointed that the game industry is changing insanely fast and it's nearly impossible for folks with a low budget to make an impact unless they are kissing the proverbial asses of middle America's youth. Casual gaming is not a good thing. Casual gaming has made the Halo series one of the most popular in the states.
Game dev may just be a pipe dream - progressively so. Mortal Kombat was developed by just five guys. I don't think you can do that anymore today.
