fuzmeister: Lonely Friday Night
I'm trying to quit cracking my neck - my neck already feels noticeably stiffer after a day and a half of not doing it. My car is screwed up - tomorrow I am going to go to the garage and hopefully get whatever is wrong with it fixed. The car does not accelerate properly or idle well at stops. It really has me worried because, at this point, I don't see buying a new car a reality. Bastard automobile prevented me from going up to see Kate tonight. I wish I could've. It's a lonely night for me.

fuzmeister: Late Night For Me
So tonight I went to Steve 1.0 and Duane's residence. I've got to say that I might've got hosed in Lemont Furnace as far as a living place. Either way, it was good to socialize - they let me do my laundry for free using their machines. Recent graduates without washers and dryers suck, I know.

I played Gears of War finally and, I must say, it probably lives the most up to the hype of any recent shooter. It adds a great dynamic with the cover system - virtually changes the way you play it which is more than I can say for most shooters (I keep wanting to call it a first person shooter - but it is third person). The story was kind of eh from what I can tell, but nothing is perfect. Co-op wasn't too bad either.

Nice to escape the usual Tuesday routine.

fuzmeister: I Showered This Morning
So this morning I woke up and got in the shower. I was pretty tired and about halfway through, I decided I should hurry up because my alarm was probably going off since I hadn't disabled it. After I got out of the shower I went to the alarm clock and saw that it was only quarter after three in the morning (I normally don't get up that early). So I went back to bed naked in a bathrobe and relatively pissed off. When my alarm did go off at 6:30a, I took a quick re-shower. Don't sleep walk into the shower - no good can come of it.

Mood: Exausted

fuzmeister: Obligatory Iraq War Post
Four years ago all this shit began. I figured that posting some lyrics from ol' Neil Young would be in order considering what today is...

Back in the days of shock and awe
We came to liberate them all
History was the cruel judge of overconfidence
Back in the days of shock and awe

Back in the days of "mission accomplished"
Our chief was landing on the deck
The sun was setting on a golden photo op
Back in the days of "mission accomplished"

Thousands of bodies in the ground
Brought home in boxes to a trumpet's sound
No one sees them coming home that way
Thousands buried in the ground

Thousands of children scarred for life
Millions of tears for a soldier's wife
Both sides are losing now
Heaven takes them in
Thousands of children scarred for life

We had a chance to change our mind
But somehow wisdom was hard to find
We went with what we knew and now we can't go back
But we had a chance to change our mind.

That's all I care to say about that.

Mood: Melancholy

fuzmeister: The Prestige
So I was up in Johnstown, PA this weekend visiting my honey and we watched this movie called The Prestige. It was directed by Chris Nolan who also did Memento (one of my favorites), Insomnia, and Batman Begins. I definitely can notice certain things about his directing perhaps more than other directors. The way he handles the order in which the story is told is very unique. The Prestige was no exception, so you had to pay close attention. I remember when the film came out last fall I thought it was dumb because another magic-related movie called The Illusionist came out at like the same time. I just thought it was dumb. I retract my asinine judgment after viewing the movie though.

Very clever film.

Plus, David Bowie is in it, so why wouldn't you see it?

Mood: Heartburn
Music: John Lennon - Power To The People
