fuzmeister: Anti-Genre
So lately I've been doing this thing where I try to reclassify songs into categories they wouldn't normally be put into. Today I heard the song I'm Henry the Eighth, I Am by Herman's Hermits and it seemed like a primitive/early punk rock song even though it's obviously categorized as part of the 60s British Invasion. I also have been thinking of a number of songs as blues that normally wouldn't be considered blues songs. Bob Dylan, Beatles, etc.

The irony of it all is that I do not believe genre boundaries, but I am classifying things into genres.

I know Kyle will hate this post because he believes in order while I believe in chaos.

Automatic writing is a phenomenon where people subconsciously write steam-of-conscious things - sometimes nonsense... sometimes beauty. During the summer of 2002, I happened to have a similar experience involving strange drawings of people. I have no idea what inspired them - they were very stream-of-conscious conceived and all feel like they belong in the same set of pieces...

So... uhm, yeah.

I don't know - pretty interesting kind of strange. The timestamps all say they were drawn after 2am, so maybe it's something related to that.

In other news, I woke up this morning on the recliner with my cat licking my beard.

Zinn's Cult

So I found this old ad I edited almost five years ago - probably a bit over five years. The Amish aren't really a cult, but this ad was for some Amish diner and it just fit really well being a cult ad.

On a related note, it's soon the tenth anniversary of the Heaven's Gate incident and their site is still live... who is the webmaster? And why did they leave it for us none-cometriders?

Music legend James Brown was finally laid to rest two days ago (3/11) after dying on Christmas day. I still can't believe that it took so long.

So a co-worker got me the film Good Burger on DVD as a late gag birthday gift. I believe it's because one day I drew George Clinton on a whiteboard at work and it came up that he makes a cameo in that film. Y'know - it wasn't terribly bad for being aimed at a 1997 preteen audience.

Either way, thanks Chromulak for helping me relieve some early week tension with an almost decade old flick.
