Had this up on my MySpace page for a while now, but I'm not sure if anyone from these parts goes there (trust me, I wouldn't have one if it weren't for my music).

I know I spoke about recording a new album recently, but I'm not sure I gave a specific announcement for it. The new record is called "Score" and will be released late May if everything remains on schedule. This is only my second "official" full release and it marks a noticeable change in the instrumentation and arrangements.

My friend Andy Woodward played upright bass on two tracks.

There are many electronic elements present on these songs, but it's not an electronic record. There are many psychedelic elements present on the record, but it's not psychedelia. What is it? Well, I don't exactly know as I'm not a genre expert, but I'm hoping everyone will like at least a few songs on it.

The first single is called "Down."

fuzmeister: What Percentage of Our Opinions are Dictated by Others?
This isn't a post about politics contrary to what some people might think after first reading the post title. It is actually a post related to a conversation I had with my bassist this afternoon.

He stated that he thought Pink Floyd are overrated. He proceeded to describe them as "stoner music." Now, I know this name is often prescribed to Pink Floyd among other psychedelic/progressive rock bands, but I think this is an image only propagated by retail outlets and people who have maybe heard Dark Side of the Moon once or twice while getting baked with their flatmates.

I'm just curious what people think of this. Do you feel your opinions are generally wholesome or are they purely dictated by the media and others?

fuzmeister: The New Kanye West Album

Ok, this guy is a real prick and an incredible egomaniac, but I'll be damned if I'm not impressed by his newest release. At first, I thought the concept sounded lame and gimmicky (instead of rapping he sings with the assistance of autotune on all the tracks).

However, the cold, minimalism of the beats and the melodies he weaves (even if it's thanks to the autotune, it's still his intentions). It's definitely got a cool vibe to it and, as one review of it I read stated, it's sort of in the same vein as David Bowie's Low (one of my all time favorite records); the artist has totally shifted their musical style and may be in danger of alienating their core audiences, but has done so to communicate deeply personal emotions.
