fuzmeister: Irish Proverb
Mike told me this and I don't know whether or not it is true, but there is an old Irish proverb that says something like:

There are only two things
you have to worry about:
Being well and getting sick.
If you're well, you're alright, but if you get sick,
you have to worry about:
Getting well or dying.
If you get well, you're alright, but if you die,
you have to worry about:
Going to Heaven or Hell.
If you got to Heaven, you're alright, and if you go to Hell
you'll see all of your friends there anyway.

Maybe this is his way of telling me that I should be less stressed. I don't know, but I certainly found it amusing.

Alrighty-roo - first of all, it's snowing in Johnstown and it's bloody cold already. I think I've caught a cold as the result of the sudden temperature change. I'm banking on our heat not working since I wired the new thermostat myself. Fortunately it's only in the mid-60s in our apartment. Go away though, Snow. Please.

Secondly, I never fully got to shell out my experience with Kate last week in Pittsburgh. Wednesday we went up to the city to see Carbon Leaf play at the Rex Theatre. Great show - although the setlist was a bit lacking on older material. Understable though since they just released a new LP and, commercially, the newer stuff has been more successful. I guess that's the kind of thing that happens when you sign to a major label. I went to Starbucks tonight and saw the new Carbon Leaf LP was on sale there (this is in Johnstown, mind you). Jeez, I thought, is this success or failure to be marketed through corporate America. Greater exposure, yes - stiffled creativity though, maybe. That's a different rant for a different day.

Speaking of Starbucks...

That Was A Good Moment.

... I got to meet Terry Clark of Carbon Leaf after Kate saw him leaving a Starbucks where I was peeing. He was very friendly and we got to chat with him for a couple of minutes about touring, the new record, and how I first heard of them (thanks again, Brandon). Regardless, good times were had and I suppose that it's the first time I ever got to meet a musician I truly respect and have respected for quite some time.

I do have some stories to tell about my recent trip to Pittsburgh with Kate, but I'll save that for later.

In the meantime, check this out. I think you have to register to post something, but it's still mind-blowing how universal some goals are.

Very, very interesting thing I found online here.

Not sure how I feel about such an uplifting rebirth of our planet when the destruction of mankind is taken into account. Eh, it's bound to happen someday regardless.
