fuzmeister: Merry New Year

2006!?

Cool. Yeah, I know I'm a few days late - big deal. Being back at university this early in the year stinks. But, hey - at least we get out for summer at the end of April.

Kate and I sold our first item on Amazon! It was a computer science book from last year that I will never need again. Hooray for some easy money to help pay bills!

Kate is visiting me in good old Lititz, PA. Yesterday was fun. Today will also be very good, I believe.

I'm really happy that she's here, but I don't have time to type, so it's off to the shower.

Stumbling upon things on the internet is fun sometimes. Yay for internet identity confirmation! Apparently, this is who I really am...

fuzmeister: The Night After Christmas
I figured it was time to make yet another holiday post to finish up the 2005 Christmas holiday. The following was written by my great aunt. She is 88 years old now and, we think, this was written around 1930 or so...

The Night After Christmas
Florence Adams

T'was the night after Christmas, and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, excepting a mouse
That had crept in the pantry to nibble the crumbs,
Which everyone scattered with fingers and thumbs.
And mamma with a headache and I with a pain,
Had both gone to bed to sleep, but in vain.
For what to my listerning ears should arise,
But a jumble of groans, and or moans, and of cries.
I sprang to the room where the children all lay,
And I instantly knew they regretted the day.
All stuffed with plum-pudding, pie, turkey and cake,
Each one held his tummy because of the ache.
As quick as a flash I flew to the phone,
And summoned the doctor to come to our home.
Detecting no fever he looks at each tongue,
Then says with a chuckle, "Here's what must be done,
Since with plenty of goodies they all had their fill,
They must ward off some sickness by swallowing pills."

He hands me his bill and leaves in a hurry,
Having assured me by now that I'd nothing to worry.

Merry Christmas Eve(ning)

Here's hoping everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday... even if it wasn't Christmas.
